To Karl above. John spoke about kinds, not species. All dogs have come from wolfe type creature, a kind. Inside the ’pantry’ of the wolfe, are the full set of genes , that when come under selective pressure, immobilise some genes and permit others to express themselves. Then there is artificial selection from humans that have selected the traits. They are all a kind of Canis. They can interbreed but due to location, size differences etc they don’t.

I wonder then how he explains all the breeds of dogs? Does he imagine huge packs of Yorkshire Terriers and Pugs roaming the savannah in search of treats? Of course evolution is a thing, the man is a crank.
